A Delta captain lost his job because an arbitrator told him there were no “peer reviewed” journal articles identifying false positives. How many more pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, anyone in a custody battle, or in need of an organ transplant, have also had their lives destroyed because of the same assumption? Articles eluded to the possibility. Many indicate the potential. But none actually proved that, “False Positives Exist.” Until now.
I decided to conduct a little research, and I proved that false positives do exist. My blood, used for all tests, showed a variety of results. The same blood, tested on the same day, identified that in three tests I had abstained from alcohol, as I did. But the second two tests, same blood, showed that I had been drinking up to four glasses of alcohol a day for the month preceding the test. How is that possible?

It is possible because the test is non FDA approved. There is no tracking of false positives. You get one, you are guilty of drinking. And the company that is prospering has no incentive to identify the fallibility of their test. Well, that arbitrator is dead (Karma’s a bitch) and that Captain has never stopped flying. When you have a passion, a loss of an airline job is only about the money. They did not take his life. But this test has taken lives of those who are denied a much needed organ transplant.
With the intent to fight for truth and justice, I conducted this test. I fully funded it. I went to the very same lab that draws blood for pilot testing, ARC Point labs. ARCPoint sent the blood to USTDL labs for analysis. USDTL is the only commercial laboratory that conduct DBS PEth testing. They analyzed all samples. You can read the complete article here:

If you know anyone harmed by being falsely accused of drinking please share this article with them. If you are a pilot who has a problem with alcohol, get the help you need. My recommendation is to take care of your health without your company’s involvement. You have the resources to do this on your own. Don’t sell your life to your employer, there are other options.
